Je m’appelle Wendy, j’ai 42 ans, je suis en couple depuis 17 ans et nous avons un ado de 15 ans.
Je vais vous partager mon témoignage concernant mon cancer du sein afin de vous sensibiliser au dépistage.
Août 2022: Mon gynécologue me prescrit une mammographie car il la préconise vivement à partir de 40 ans. Je ne me presse pas pour prendre le rendez-vous car il parait que ca fait mal et j’estime qu’il n’y a pas d’urgences; je n’ai vraiment pas envie d’aller me faire écraser les nénés à l’hôpital!
Septembre 2022: Une amie proche m’annonce qu’elle a un cancer du sein! Le choc! Nous avons quasiment le même âge. Jamais je n’aurais imaginé cela. D’ailleurs, je lui tire mon chapeau, sa force et son courage m’ont impressionné. Le lendemain de son annonce, je prends mon rendez-vous.
29 Nov 2022: Je me présente à la mammographie à l’hôpital le plus proche de chez moi. Je me rends compte qu’une mammographie est un peu désagréable mais vraiment pas douloureuse. La doctoresse m’annonce que j’ai une « masse » et qu’il faut une biopsie en urgence. Je ne m’attendais pas à ca pour une 1ère mammo! La masse ne se sent pas à la palpation.
J’aurai les résultats dans 10 jours.
9 Déc 2022: Mon gynécologue m’appelle. Ma biopsie est négative, mais il a un gros doute. Il me conseille vivement de recommencer l’examen dans un autre hôpital. Selon lui, elle a été mal réalisée. Moi qui attendait ces résultats avec impatience….
12 Déc 2022: J’ai eu un rendez vous ailleurs. Je recommence les examens: mammographie et échographie puis biopsie.
23 Déc 2022: Le résultat tombe, il m’annonce que cette masse est cancéreuse mais il me rassure, vu mon dépistage précoce et vu sa taille il pense que je pourrai peut-être éviter la chimiothérapie. Quel choc! Il avait vu juste. Mon amie parle de moi à son oncologue et m’obtient un rendez vous plus tôt que prévu. L’oncologue se veut rassurante, en effet la tumeur est petite, je vais pouvoir éviter la chimiothérapie. Me voilà déjà un peu soulagée.
Des examens, des prises de sang, marquages….je vais une à deux fois par semaine à l’hôpital.
26 Jan 2023: Je passe au bloc opératoire. La tumeur et 2 ganglions sont enlevés. L’opération s’est bien déroulée et je suis bien entourée, ca fait du bien au moral.
Avril 2023: C’est parti pour 3 semaines de radiothérapie. Presque 2h de route quotidiennement qui me semblent interminables. Les séances sont plutôt rapides, pas douloureuses et l’accueil y est très chaleureux. Le lendemain de la dernière séance, les brûlures apparaissent. C ‘est très douloureux…..mais j’ai enfin terminé les traitements.
Je suis à présent sous hormonothérapie pour une durée de 5 ans, la fatigue est le plus gros inconvénient mais ce n’est pas grave, l’essentiel est que je peux profiter de la vie, de ma famille, voyager et découvrir le monde sous-marin qui me passionne.
Voilà, mon témoignage est la preuve que le dépistage est très important. Mon cancer a été découvert à un stade précoce, j’ai pu ainsi éviter des traitements et opérations beaucoup plus lourdes.
Au moindre doute, faites vous dépister.
